Rain water is allowed to freely fall to other areas without any drainage provision. Free fall is often applied on small roof area where there is no gutter provision. However, care has to be taken when water is allowed to free fall as it tends to result in uncontrolled splashing; which can result in frequent wetting of external surface (water seepage through external wall), staining and damages to external surfaces.
